Mark Schneider DO

Program Director

Dr. Schneider decided to pursue medicine because he wanted to make a difference in people's lives. "I wanted to blend my interest in science with taking care of people, and I had several role models that influenced me, including my father and uncle. Both my identical twin brother and cousin became physicians also."

Dr. Schneider enjoys the continuity and trust he develops with his patients over the years, especially in becoming the family physician for generations of the same family. He has served as a California delegate to American Osteopathic Association House of Delegates for more than 10 years.

Dr. Schneider enjoys baseball, sailing, and tennis, as well as spending time with his family.

Kathryn Schat MD

Kathryn Schat MD is a family medicine doctor who also received special training in sports medicine, hospital medicine, and geriatrics. For the geriatric specialty, she completed a mini-fellowship at Johns Hopkins. Dr. Schat was influenced by her mother, who was a veterinarian, to pursue the medical field. Add to that her love of science and helping people feel better, and becoming a doctor was an easy choice. Ultimately Dr. Schat decided to become a family medicine doctor because the specialty takes care of a diverse population with different medical health conditions. What differentiates Dr. Schat from others is her military experience; she was a member of the US Air Force and received a Meritorious Service Medal for commendable noncombat service.
