Bob Hoffman, CSPG, CFRE, FCEP
Senior Vice President
Bob Hoffman joined Thompson & Associates in 2006. His work ethic—and a resumé of experience that runs deep and wide allows him to serve individuals and families in a way that enhances their ability to reflect on the values and commitments that they have lived by throughout their lives, and create an estate plan that will extend those values beyond their lifetime.
Bob is a generous teacher, and a kind and trustworthy friend and partner, who enjoys facilitating conversations and guiding the planning process without taking control.
Bob earned a bachelor’s degree in religion and secondary education from Walla Walla University and received his FCEP certification from the Charitable Estate Planning Institute. He is a Certified Fund Raising Executive, a Certified Specialist in Planned Giving, and a member of the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy (AHP).
His professional career began as a high school teacher in 1969, and also includes early days working in real estate sales and manufacturer sales. In 1994, he joined St. Helena Hospital Foundation as director of planned giving, before taking the role as regional director of planned giving for the St. Joseph Health System.
He and his wife, Elaine, were college sweethearts and married in 1968. They reside in Napa, California, where their two daughters and their families (including Bob and Elaine’s two young granddaughters) also live. As a couple, they have been active on nonprofit boards and currently dedicate volunteer time serving the needs of an urban neighborhood in Vallejo, California.
