Facial Plastic Surgery

PIH Health offers a range of cosmetic procedures to enhance facial features.

Brow Lift

A brow lift, also known as a forehead lift, brow rejuvenation, endobrow lift, open brow lift or temporal lift, removes or alters the muscles and skin in the forehead that cause visible signs of aging. The forehead and eyebrow region often show noticeable signs of aging. Looseness in these structures may cause drooping eyebrows, eyelid hooding, forehead furrows and frown lines. In brow lift surgery, the structures responsible for these problems are tightened or altered to smooth the forehead, raise the upper eyebrows and improve frown lines. A brow lift may be performed alone or in conjunction with other procedures, such as a facelift or eyelid surgery.

Advances in brow lift surgery make it possible to perform the procedure through a variety of approaches including endoscopy. Brow lift surgery is individualized for each patient. The incisions can often be hidden in the hairline.

Eyelid Surgery

Eyelid surgery, also known as blepharoplasty, is a surgical procedure to remove excess skin from both the upper and lower eyelids. Underlying fatty tissue that produces bagginess can be selectively removed or repositioned. Blepharoplasty can improve drooping skin and bagginess. It can help improve vision in older patients who have hooding of their upper eyelids. Blepharoplasty will not remove “crow’s feet” or other wrinkles, eliminate dark circles under the eyes or lift sagging eyebrows.

Blepharoplasty surgery is customized for every patient, depending on his or her particular needs. It can be performed alone, involving upper, lower or both eyelid regions, or in conjunction with other surgical procedures of the eye, face, brow or nose. In patients who have looseness between the lower eyelid and the eye, consideration for tightening of the lower eyelid (canthoplasty/canthopexy) at the time of blepharoplasty may be recommended. Eyelid surgery can diminish the look of loose skin and bagginess in the eyelid region and give a refreshed, rejuvenated appearance.

Facelift

A facelift, also known as a facial rejuvenation or rhytidectomy, can help to repair some of the visible signs of aging and restore a younger look to the face. A facelift surgically repairs sagging, drooping and wrinkled skin of the face and neck. Facelift surgery is individualized for each patient. The best candidates for facelift surgery have a face and neckline beginning to sag in certain areas rather than everywhere but whose skin has elasticity and whose bone structure is well defined. A facelift can be performed alone or in conjunction with other procedures, such as a brow lift, liposuction, eyelid surgery or nasal surgery.

Fat Grafting

Fat grafting uses the patient’s own fat to plump areas of the face, such as around the eyes, cheeks and lips. This can lead to a more youthful look and can be permanent.

Lip Augmentation

Lip augmentation plumps the lips through injections, creating volume and defining the lip border.

Neck Lift

A neck lift, also known as a neck rejuvenation or cervicoplasty, tightens the muscles in the neck and removes any excess fat, through liposuction or surgery. This is commonly performed with a facelift.

Otoplasty

Otoplasty is a surgical process to reshape the ear. A variety of different techniques and approaches may be used to reshape the ears or restore damaged ears. Each individual seeking otoplasty is unique in the appearance of their ears and their expectations for results following surgery. It is important that you fully discuss your expectations with your plastic surgeon prior to surgery.

Septoplasty

Surgery of the nasal septum, also known as septoplasty, is frequently performed by plastic surgeons to correct breathing problems caused by a distorted (deviated) nasal septum, which divides the nostrils. Septal deviation can interfere with air passing through the nose. Distorted cartilage and bone is selectively removed or straightened beneath the mucous membranes of the septum to improve nasal breathing. There are a number of techniques and approaches for septoplasty. This surgery can be performed in conjunction with other nasal surgeries (rhinoplasty) that reshape the external appearance of the nose and/or at the same time as submucous resection of turbinates, which reshapes the internal nose. A variety of conditions such as allergies, sinus disorders, nasal polyps, snoring problems and breathing disorders from other causes may occur with a deviated nasal septum.
