The Acute Rehabilitation Center (ARC) is a dedicated unit with emphasis on helping patients resume the activities of daily living despite changes in their physical status. Our rehabilitative care is tailored to the unique needs of each patient.

Conditions We Treat

You may benefit from staying at an inpatient rehabilitation unit if you have a major injury, surgery or serious illness like:

  • Arthritis
    • Rheumatoid arthritis
    • Systemic lupus erythematosus
    • Polymyositis
    • Juvenile chronic polyarthritis
  • Amputation
  • Brain injury
  • Hand injury
  • Heart attack or other heart conditions
  • Hip fracture
  • Joint replacement
  • Nerve and brain (neurologic) conditions
  • Spinal cord injury
  • Stroke

What To Pack

Bring comfortable clothes that you typically wear at home. Part of your therapy may include working with buttons and zippers so you can dress yourself as much as possible. That’s why using items from your own wardrobe is helpful.

What To Bring

Please bring at least:

  • Disposable briefs, if necessary
  • Glasses, dentures and hearing aids
  • Pajamas, nonskid slippers and robe
  • Personal grooming products and toiletry items
  • Shoes with rubber soles
  • Sweater or sweatshirt
  • Two pairs of pants or trousers
  • Two shirts or blouses
  • Undergarments and socks

Consider placing your name on all your clothing to prevent it from getting lost.

What Not To Bring

For your safety, do not bring:

  • Cash or credit cards
  • Jewelry or other valuables
  • Outside food or snacks, unless staff says it’s OK
