Norma Martinez MD

I saw Dr. Martinez. I've had her as my primary doctor for many years and I have recommended her to multiple members of my family who now also use her as their primary provider. She's a great doctor, always listens. She's just a good doctor and again, I would recommend her to anybody.

I arrived early and was seen almost immediately. Pleasant staff and the kind of doctor everyone needs. She listens to you, is very pleasant and does nor hold herself above everyone else. Good doctor.

It is becoming increasingly difficult to get a timely appointment. Love the providers I have dealt with at this office but the unavailability of timely appointments gives me reason to pause. I do not want to seek treatment at an urgent care facility. I want to get treatment from my family practitioner whenever possible. That's why I have chosen a family practitioner for my care.

I was able to be seen promptly. The provider listened to me and prescribed what I needed. The next day I was feeling much better.

I felt extremely comfortable and welcomed at the office. Office staff professional and knowledgeable. Nurse taking my vitals was welcoming and had a great attitude. Dr Martinez is fantastic! Straight to the point but listens as well.

Yes, my experience with Dr. Martinez's office this past week was absolutely amazing. My appointment was at 8 o'clock. I got in early, had my vitals, my weight, all of that done, and even Dr. Martinez was in the office five minutes before. I've had her for many years. She's wonderful, and yeah, I'm just grateful to have her. Thank you.

It was my first time seeing Dr. Martinez and I thought that she was very thorough and she made me feel very comfortable and she wanted to, you know, do the necessary tests to make sure that I was really okay when I was initially worried that she might brush me off and she isn't typically my normal provider, but she was really, really helpful and I liked her a lot. It was a very good experience.

She was genuinely concerned for me

Few medical professionals treat their patients like Dr. Martinez. I am happy to be with her again.

I always feel that the physician is in a hurry. It seems like they make several appointments at the same time, so she has to quickly go from one person to another. I don't understand this because the waiting room was basically almost empty. I am never asked if I have any questions, or any more questions like in other Dr. offices.

I gave an eight for recommendation because it's so hard to see Dr. Martinez. Why would I want to compete with even more patients.

My visit with Dr. Norma Martinez went well. She was very helpful and nice. My issue is with the difficulty in getting appointments. It takes a really long time to get an appointment, meaning I have to wait a month or two or longer, and that's been very frustrating. I feel like that's been a change with PIH over the last year or two, and that's my biggest complaint at this time.

My provider left sooner than what I thought and I had more questions but was not able to ask due to my provider leaving.

Dr. Martinez is the best doctor! She listens carefully to me and always gives me her undivided attention. Dr. Martinez and her office staff are fabulous!

This was my first visit and the doctor was very clear, she informed me about my entire process and how my care would be carried out and the steps that this would require and in less than 24 hours I already had the references for the specialists who have to treat me. Therefore, so far the experience has been satisfactory.

It's alway a fast visit never able to ask questions without being gaslighted & then rush you out- listen I'm stuck with Norma because All the other drs panels are closed- it's Always a rushed visit with her generic answers & then a "see you see next time" it's all you get with pih drs

I was seen within 10 minutes of my arrival. And as usual, Dr. Norma Martinez went through my labs, businesslike but definitely caring. She answers all my questions thoroughly And before leaving, she always asked me if I have any more questions As an 82 year-old senior, I didn't feel like a zero patient at all

Everyone was efficient and pleasant

My experience here is usually great for the most part. I am not sure if staff has changed since I have last been here but the staff was not very friendly. I walked in and did not get greeted with a hello, just a "what are you here for?", whole time no eye contact, just "name" and "have a seat". Once taken into the room, staff just walked in and hooked up blood pressure cuff, there was no introduction of name or title or explanation of what was being done. I am not new to healthcare and know what is being done, I just do not feel its appropriate to just do things to a patient without introducing yourself or just being friendly. It is not hard. As for with the visit itself with my doctor, I did not feel like my concerns were being taken seriously. I still love my doctor and I understand everyone has off days, I just did not appreciate being rushed out of my appointment and feeling like I wasn't being heard.

Very thankful for the service provided

I accompanied my mother to her appointment and we wanted to see Dr. Martinez so she could please answer some questions but, we never (unreadable) very distant and never answered any questions that my mom would ask. We asked (name removed) to please listen, as she had pain (unreadable) could only go over 1 thing and didn't even slow down to listen to my mother and I was very update and very frustrated because she did not listen to what my mother needed. Thank you.

I have been very happy with Dr. Martinez and her staff. Both of my daughters were also her patients, one has moved to San Diego so is no longer her patient. I will continue to be with Dr. Martinez as long as I am able too.

Just that it's been really hard to get an appointment with the group lately. I've never had any problems in the past, but now appointments are like taking a couple of months or a month or there's no availability, like, you know, if you need an urgency. So I don't know. But other than that, I mean, I've been with this group for close to 20, 30 years and I've been happy with them. It's just the appointment setting up lately has been tough. Thank you.

Dr Martinez is amazing! Even if she hasn't seen me for a year, she remembers every detail. More even than I remember. She is on top of things. She's very proactive.

The quality of continued care has declined since Covid with PIH. I have to be referred to specialists for everything. Dr. Martinez used to prescribe me medicine but now I have to be referred to someone else? I don't understand this new approach. It is frustrating and I am seriously contemplating driving to LA to change to UCLA Health or USC Keck. I have heard wonderful stories about them from my colleagues and only negative experiences from all PIH patients I know.

Dr. Martinez is caring and understanding as well as thorough.

Great communication and understanding

First off, I waited over a month to get an appointment and that morning I got a call saying that the provider had called out that day and then I couldn't get another appointment for another month. So it took two months to get the appointment. I went in with my toddler so obviously I was a little distracted but the nurse came in to ask me what my primary problem was. I told her the provider came in, didn't touch me, just had me move my hands a certain way for my neck pain, said here's ortho and then she rolled away without even me trying to get in my other concerns. When the nurse came back in to give me my referral, I was like is she going to come back in? I have other questions about other issues and she said she already closed my account and she will see if she can come back in and then she never did. So that was it. So it was literally she was in there for maybe three minutes tops. It was a pretty horrible experience.

The doctor comes into the room and rushes through the visit and when I try to talk to her about my mother, she cuts me off. And then she just does what she does. I'm trying to talk to her. She doesn't let me talk. And then she's out the door. So I had to catch her at the door to ask her to get a referral for my mother for something. And she's just in and out and like in a zone, doesn't see us as people. It's just like another product, move it down the line, move it down the line. And it's worse than it was before.

Entire staff was friendly. Waiting room and exam room wait time was short. Dr. Martinez is great.

The doctor treated me too quickly, then they took about 15 x-ray photos of me where the technique was confused and repeated them and then laughed. The worst experience at PIH, please let the technicians be professional with their work, it is not a game of taking photos and that's it.

If Dr. Martinez ever has another spot for a permanent patient, I want that spot. She was altogether wonderful! Thanks a billion to her and to the staff.

Dr. Martinez was easy to talk to. She took her time to evaluate the problem and come up with a solution. I want her for my regular doctor, although she said she was not taking any new patients at that time. You need more doctors like her!

Hello. I just wanted to express that Dr. Martinez is the best. I'm now heading towards 70. I've had her for many years. And I don't know what I would have done without this doctor. Per the code billed to my ins I'm allowed at least 15 mins w/ dr but she is SO hyper goes o er the labs - doesn't let you ask a question she hates interruptions & All is done within 7-9 mins! I had time timed this visit solely with the MD- not with the helper (ma) I can't change drs which I want because the other drs panels are closed to new pts - So I'm stuck & have been for awhile unfortunately but this dr is fairly good but her presence is just so hurried & has always been this way... no patience to listen to the pt sincerely... too rushed too impersonal... sad if there are other pts that are afraid to speak up I feel for those who are in the same situation as I am- PIH is losing

I was at the turning point in deciding if I needed to change my insurance provider. My recent visit showed major improvements in management and system in place that provided a better flow. The nurses were attentive and that was different. However, I noticed that the doctor spent the major of the time simply updating my file online and went through my medical history . It appeared to have been incomplete or incorrect. Concerns were addressed with blood a blood work request and a referral to a dermatologist. Great News: I was informed I could have my blood test done at the same site instead of going somewhere else.

At check in don't forget the co pay so I won't get a bill later I had to tell the receptionist I had a co pay

No, I would like them to pay more attention. The doctor who treats patients needs to be more attentive. Also, when I request to see my doctor, I've had to wait up to 2 months for an appointment. That's not good for me.

The online pre-check in was easy. Once I arrived, the reception, checked me in with ease. (name removed), Who took my height, weight and preliminary vitals was very welcoming. Dr. Martinez took the time to read Michael's notes asked a few more questions and heard my responses. recommended a few options and we all agreed on which options we would do first and proceed from thereafter. The visit was pleasant.

Dr. Martinez was great, she took her time, reviewed my chart, heard my input, and was respectful. I wish she was taking new patients.
