Ahl Jeffrey Caseja MD is an endocrinologist specializing in diabetes, thyroid, adrenal gland, metabolism, and osteoporosis. After his residency in internal medicine at the UNLV School of Medicine, he continued his training in endocrinology at the Sunrise Health MountainView Hospital in Las Vegas. 

Dr. Caseja chose endocrinology because it requires a comprehensive understanding of physiology and biochemistry, combined with objective interpretation of labs with clinical symptoms. Growing up, he had witnessed family members suffer with diabetes which motivated him to go into this field. Endocrinology is rapidly evolving and he has an opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of patients while building life-long relationships. Dr. Caseja always tries to ensure that his patients’ questions and concerns are addressed during their visits.

Dr. Caseja served as chief resident at UNLV and has received the UNLV Residency Teaching Award, the Endocrine Society Early Career Forum Award and the American College of Physicians Young Achiever Award. In his personal time, Dr. Caseja enjoys traveling.

The doctor was great. But the check-in process was a little bit of a problem. I arrived at the facility and since it was on the third floor, I went straight up to the office come to find out. I was supposed to check in on the first floor first and then go upstairs so I ended up waiting up there 45 minutes for nothing had to go back downstairs check in and then come back up. They quickly took me in And I was able to see the doctor so I arrived at 12:50 PM for a 1 o'clock appointment I was finally seen at 2:45. I will take some responsibility for that, but it should be made more clear that Patients have to check in on the first floor. I have been there for urgent care, but I have never been there for a Doctors appointment. That information would've greatly helped.

In my opinion, Dr. Caseja is a fine clinician with excellent assessment skills. While efficient, he is thorough. During this first appointment, he took his time during my thyroid exam, and stated he felt what could be a nodule but want to verify. The ultrasound he ordered indeed revealed several nodules, one that will be biopsied. This encounter has made me feel safe and trustful of Dr. Caseja's medical abilities. His staff was also excellent. I did find it a bit odd that the registration area was also the Urgent Care waiting room on the first floor, and seems to be the first stop for all appointments in that medical building. My main concern for this is possible exposure to contagious respiratory conditions such as covid, flu etc.

Dr Caseja explained my complex thyroid nodule problem in THE most clear and understandable manner (compared with other endocrinologists I've met with in the past). Highly recommend him.

I took my Mom to the doctor because my Mom has dementia. I was trying to understand what the doctor was saying and paraphrased what the doctor was saying. After the 3rd time of not understanding the doctor raised his voice at me for not understanding what he was saying. Doctor should consider being more understanding that us non-medical people need a little patience in trying decipher what they're saying.

That was my first time coming to the office. Though it did take four months for me to get this appointment. That was the part that was disappointing. But his office staff did follow up with me and schedule the time with me within the four months. So that was just too long for what I needed. But ultimately he was conscientious. He read my history. He listened to what I had to say. He was focused. I didn't feel rushed. I felt like my needs were met quickly. I already have a new prescription and I have a follow up appointment and I feel like I had someone who would advocate for me and what my needs were and I felt heard and I felt seen and I felt peace about an appointment that initially I wasn't sure about. So I'm excited to have him for my needs going forward and as my endocrinologist. So Dr. Caseja did a wonderful job. I was happy.

Everything went well with the Drs visit except he provided glipizide for 30 days only and he wants to see me in 90 days I don't like to be calling the DR caseja to extend for 60 more days when he could have prescribed for 90 days supply this kis a Drs waste of time.

Dr wanted me to return in 8 weeks, have to wait 10 weeks to get first available, which was not a date that was available for patient, next available for Dr 15 weeks. Unacceptable health care.

Dr Caseja is a wonderful doctor. He's well prepared when he enters the examination room ... it's obvious he has reviewed your medical records. He clearly discusses bloodwork results and any medication changes if needed. Dr Caseja discusses your medical plan forward and initiates appointments for any lab tests, like ultra sound or additional blood tests. Dr Caseja is very thorough and sincere. I think Dr Caseja is great endocrinologist and I trust him completely.

I appreciate the doctor, but I was supposed to get information on the medication, but didn't get it. And I had to call to get it. It took forever to get some information, by leaving my phone number. I personally don't like to have to wait on the phone for a long time just to give a phone number to get a call back.

I really appreciated Dr. Caseja's staff that they allowed my friend to go back and forth to get my glucose monitor. They were kind enough to look back and forth to be respectful of that and to help me out so that Dr. Caseja's could see what my glucose monitor reading was because he needed to see it so they were very kind enough to do that and they were very respectful of it and I really appreciated their kindness and patience and really it was important to me. Thank you.

I always feel that this provider is in a hurry to go to his next patient. He does explain things to a point and provides a short time to ask questions, but I always feel he just wants to be done with the encounter and move on.

Dr Caseja was very personable and friendly with me. The staff was very personable as well. I have rated everything a ten because the attitude and professionalism merits a 10. The only area that could be somewhat better is the manner in which the blood pressure is taken. The nurse who took my BP was nice so her manner with me was wonderful. However, when my BP was taken my arm was below heart level (resting on the arm of the chair) and this gives a higher reading than normal. The nurse did explain that my arm couldn't be resting on her cart because my arm would be too high and that would make the reading too low. Therefore, I understand that the nurse did her best with what she had to work with. It just makes for an inaccurate BP reading.

Very efficient but needs to listen to patient who knows there health better than anyone without just talking at patient but listen and waity for a response. Does not allow patient to respond. I had questions about a medication and he was somewhat demeaning and very curt.

This office on infield is always so efficient. I like the idea of being able to check in online beforehand. When I checked in at the front desk, it's usually within a few minutes of arrival. And I'm not waiting a long time to see the doctor. I love this doctor because he is through with reviewing labs with me, any questions I have and what my treatment plan is. And if I have a question that maybe unrelated to my diabetes, he is willing to listen and provide guidance to what my next steps or correct provider to seek help with.

When you call for an appointment, I stood in an hour and 45 minutes waiting for somebody to come to the line. I think that needs to be improved.

The only thing that can be improved is making sure there's signs everywhere in the third floor saying you have to check in at the bottom on the first floor because I was waiting for 20 minutes until someone pointed out the sign to me. If not, I would have been so late for my appointment. But please, please put signs everywhere that a patient can see that you have to check in, especially if it's the first time, which was my first time. And I did wait over 20 minutes. And I think I could have been seen sooner. But that's the only thing. Everything else was good.

Dr. Caseja seemed extremely rushed when he entered the room. The nurse was in the middle of taking my blood pressure when he came in appearing to be very hurried. Additionally, Dr. Caseja listed hyperlipidemia as a condition in my medical records, but never mentioned what that was and neglected to explain it to me. I read it on the portal after I got home.

Dr. Caseja needs some bedside training to b patience with Customer is writing notes n instructions to follow. Sometimes may need some repeating when Customer is stressed n emotional, dealing with personal n work-related issues. He is very condescending when having a conversation n not really listening to the Customer. I don't feel comfortable dealing with him.

The office personnel and the doctor were extremely courteous and professional. The problem with this office is that I called back in October. It was not able to schedule an appointment until February 13. That is outrageously long time to wait for an urgent appointment. That needs to be fixed. Thank you.

When I was at the doctor, I was seen right on time and the staff was really good. They listened to me. My only problem was it took me four months to get into the appointment. I couldn't schedule an appointment in a timely manner as a first-time patient.

The office visit and doctor was great. The only thing that I have an issue with is that it took too long to get an initial visit with Dr Caseja. However if I had not been able to go to Santa Fe Springs location it would have taken an additional two months to see an Endocrinologist. As is I already had to wait two months to see Dr Caseja.

The MA at that office, I think her name was (name removed), (words removed), very rude, no bedside manner, very uncomfortable with that situation. The provider was knowledgeable, but was also no bedside manner, very short to the point I felt not comfortable. However, the provider was knowledgeable in what they were saying, but I felt like I was spoken at, not to, and I didn't generally think that, that provider really had any empathy or any consideration or any real concern about what I was sharing. It felt rushed, it felt dry, the atmosphere was .
