The staff at the front desk was very friendly and kind as well as the gal that helped me choose the glasses. Very patient and let me try on whatever I needed to make an informed decision. The doctor went the extra mile to explain how the surgery impacted my eyes before and after. He clarified my doubts. Ana was super helpful and paciente.

The doctor was great. However, in order for me to get an appointment to see the optometrist, I had to wait over three weeks to get an appointment. That's the problem. Then when I got there, there was a problem with my appointment time, which I don't know if was necessarily my fault. And luckily they helped me out, the front office, but I had to really advocate for myself. And so there should be some system by which if somebody makes a mistake, the main office, and once you're there, can help you squeeze you in, which is what happened with me. But I bet you had it not been at the end of the day that I was gonna get squeezed in, I wouldn't have been seen. And I had taken time off from work. So there needs to be some flexibility from within the office that if errors are made, you can help the patient that shows up. Thank you.

Why does the office book two appointments for the same exact time? I had an 8 a.m. appt., so did another women. I managed my time for 8 but since the other 8 appt., walked in a few minutes before me she was seen, making me late for work. If I had a correct time, not double booked, I can plan my schedule accordingly.

My appointment was scheduled and five minutes before my appointment we were pulling into the driveway. We got a call saying that the doctor called in sick and we had to reschedule. We had driven all the way from Carson to Whittier, about 26 miles, and we were not happy. Luckily I talked to Mr. (name removed) and he was able to provide best, very good service. And that's why you got a high rating at the end, but the early ratings for your Santa Fe Springs office was terrible. For your Whittier office, it was great. Thank you.

I just want to thank the staff, Dr. Hines, and the location of where I went and got my exam. Dr. Hines was very informative and he explained things very well. I think the building and the office itself is quite small and I did hear individuals say the length of time that it took each and every one of us to be seen because of the little space for that entire group. So that's something that PIH should look into. It's not the staff or the doctors, any of the doctors' fault, but PIH should consider a larger office. Other than that, I am going to be waiting for my glasses and sunglasses. Thank you.

The eye frame person was not a friendly guy. He made the whole experience totally unfriendly.

I was there from three. I hope we're talking about the eye doctor because I had two appointments on that same day. I was there for almost 4 hours. That's ridiculous and I had an appointment and I was early.

Yes, I was very impressed with Dr. Hinds. He was professional and thorough and I understood what the different tests mean and what my options were. And then he had someone help me pick out glasses named Suzie and she was just great. She knew what I wanted and helped me select them and I was just very impressed with the office. I will definitely go back again.

I have seen this doctor several times. He is very thorough, professional, and kind.

I've been going to Dr. Hinds for about 10 or 11 years. He's excellent all the way around and I wasn't able to get into the specialist and he was able to take care of my glaucoma meds. So I would give him a 10 and recommend him to anybody that asked or even if they don't ask. That's about it. Thank you so much.

It is difficult having an optometrist office tucked into a hospital. A long walk for me as I have mobility issues. Also, waiting a long time for my new glasses! I thought I would have them by now. Obviously, I need to call the office. I don't look forward to the trek back to the office, do appreciate the valet parking. Speaking of parking, I don't appreciate have $5 parking fee for a doctor appointment!

Well, when I went in the office, the people in the office, they schedule my appointment and then they say, I have to wait for an hour. The doctor's fantastic, but the people who work in the office, they're terrible. Okay. Goodbye.

I had a 3pm appointment when I got there was seen pretty fast by the assistant, she dilated my eyes at 310pm. I sat in the front waiting area for 1hour had I not gotten up to ask why I was waiting so long I probably would've sat there longer no explanation nothing! Finally I asked the receptionist and she told me the Doctor was running behind! Waiting an hour is totally unacceptable and just plain RUDE!!! Needless to say I was irritated and the whole visit was uncomfortable and not good at all!!!?

I was referred to your practice and to Dr. (name removed) by a nurse friend. I have already printed out your office information to give to three co-workers to recommend you.

The doctor and staff were both amazing. The wait time was ridiculous. The doctor was overbooked. You could see that there was many people that were at my same time slot. So for that reason, I probably wouldn't recommend more people going there. But the doctor and the staff were amazing. We almost walked out of there because it was taking so long to get our appointment, to get in to see the doctor. And it took us three months to get the appointment.

I felt comfortable with dr. Hinds and felt he was very thorough. I will be happy to continue seeing him in the future.

This was my first time to have an eye examination at the La Mirada office as l had always gone to LaHabra but couldn't get in for too long a time for an appointment and was somewhat anxious. I was so pleased with my care there.

I loved the way they served us. They are very friendly. That's what makes people return to a place. For me and my family, the office is 45 minutes away, but it's worth going there. We wouldn't change it for anything.

The office, the clinic was super clean, nice, a nice treatment. Doctor very professional, nurses the same. And I was very impressed and I was 100% satisfied with all that service. And I'm very happy.

Starting off with my Ophthalmologist Dr (name removed) on 4-10-24 she did an excellent job on my Cataract surgery as well as the RN (name removed) at same day surgery Center. Very kind Respectful and professional!! The next day (name removed) the medical assistant at the office in La Mirada again very friendly and quickly prepared me for Dr. Hinds to check my eyes. Again he was very professional and caring!!!

The only thing I didn't like, that they didn't complete my visit ok, is everything goodbye.

Dr. Nathan Hinds was extremely kind, knowledgeable and thorough. He is very respectful and talked me through each step and taught me why my vision has made small changes over the years. I would go back to be treated and texted by him in a heartbeat.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. They seemed very overwhelmed. It took months to get a simple optometry checkup to see if I needed a new prescription for glasses. I thought that was in excess. It was literally like three months before I could see an optometrist, and when I came in, the doctors were very behind and the room was very full, and I realized that I won't be able to see my ophthalmologist also for like six months because they are, she's very booked and they are very behind and there were signs alerting to the fact that, you know, schedules were running behind and the waits were long. Overall, PIH is appears to be slow in incorporating current technology in record keeping. Patients are required complete redundant and non-applicable paper forms in some offices and use computers in others. It appears PIH has not centralized basic patient information (address insurance) to be shared across various processes / departments. You are wasting patients time and incurring additional operating costs.

Nice experience

I went to the eye doctor because I need glasses as soon as possible, I waited more than a month for them to give me my glasses measurement, now another month for them to show me some frames for my glasses and almost 4 months for them to dilate my eyes to check my eyes better As you said, I'm 84 years old, I can't wait that long for good glasses so I can see.

I think he was pretty good. I would recommend him again. He was quick, easy. He explained everything to me that I understood. I definitely would recommend him for my family. Thank you.

The system, including insurance, is ineffective. Everyone keeps wanting me to buy eye drops forever. They don't ask me what my past regimens were. If they did, they'd know that I've used the same drops I've been using for 3 years with no improvement. I mention punctual plugs, but no one ever tries this as solution.

I waited 2.5 hours to get seen for my 9am appointment. I think it is ridiculous that this facility schedules multiple people to be seen by one doctor at the same time. I should not have to get to my appointment 15 minutes early just to sit in the waiting room for 2.5 hours before seeing my doctor. That is insane. The scheduling needs to get fixed and you need to stop double booking doctors when everyone in the world knows that a doctor can not see two completely different patients at the exact same time.

Scheduling timely optometry appointments at this office has been difficult since Dr. Chen went on leave. My first appointment needed to be at a different location in order to get an appointment within the timeframe I needed. Due to work, I was forced to reschedule, and this reschedule was much easier to obtain at the location that I wanted and also in an acceptable timeframe.

Very friendly, I was willing to be patient when I'm asking him questions, very knowledgeable on the products, The woman who helped me pick, my glasses was well knowledgeable, courtesy it was patient with me the entire time...

The Doctor was very professional and courteous. The office staff was great. I was very disappointed I didn't get 3 days of trial contact lenses, in order to be sure it was a correct prescription change and the lenses would work out. All of my other eye doctors gave me trial lenses for a few days to test out. I was sent on my way wearing 1 pair of 'new prescription contacts' for approximately 5 hours. Hopefully, this new prescription will work out. Also, I later noticed the new prescription printed out for one of my eyes was recorded incorrectly and had to have it corrected to the new prescription.

I want all my doctors to be as nice as Dr. Hinds

my dr was on vacation so saw this other dr for 1 week follow up to cataract surgery knowing dr was going to have to double up on patients, would have been better if office move, or at least spread out appts I got there on time but I had to wait to see dr for over 1 hour sitting in waiting room I know dr's are entitled to go on vacation, but seems like poor planning on office since they knew about vacation. Long time to wait

My eye was slightly, had blood in it, and they gave me an appointment right away. They're always, always polite, very professional. They make you feel like they know you. They listen to what you have to say. I'm very happy with them. Very. I love the entire office. I love them. That's all I have to say. And I would recommend them to my family, which I have done, and friends.

As a returning patient, I always feel confident that the vision care from Dr. Hinds and staff is excellent.

The doctor was patient and answered all my questions. He repeated himself to his treatment so that I would remember it, which was great because a lot of times a doctor will tell you one time and then you walk out and you're not sure exactly what he said. And he was great. He repeated to put a warm washcloth on my eye, to put my ointment in, how to put the ointment in, to take my antibiotic, how often to take everything. He was great. Couldn't say enough. Great doctor. Thank you.

The security man was not friendly and was sending me to another building and I had the appointment there, in an angry state, sending us to the building. I already knew I had the appointment there, he told me no, it wasn't there and all because I don't have a problem but he didn't understand me well, thank you.

The physician was extremely nice and informative, and the optical department was very nice and helpful finding a frame. The reception desk is not that nice or welcoming. And if you have a mask mandate policy that has been re enacted they could be nicer about it when a patient arrives. They seem a bit dictatorial, but I think that has been the way they are, they are nice when you are leaving.

He's been the best Optometrist to me and my husband. He explains everything clearly where you could understand. I definitely recommend him.

Intake nurse listened intently to my issues and thoroughly documented my condition. Dr. Hinds is wonderful! I left office feeling calmer about my situation. They even scheduled future visits for me. The techs are great but when shopping for glasses and sunglasses , the staff are not fast. Only 1 person with a patient to buy glasses is not enough. Maybe have 2. 45 min wait is ridiculous to buy glasses

I appreciate the doctor and his thoroughness, and his kindness. However, I've noticed in the past few months that this office has become very busy and very crowded, and there is a wait time for appointments, and sometimes to schedule appointments the doctors are two, three months out. And that's unfortunate. And I was told that many of the appointments the day that I was there were double booked, and this should not be happening. It's going to affect the quality of care that PIH is typically known for giving. Thank you.
