Bruce Macrum MD is a cardiologist with specialization in cardiac ultrasound. Dr. Macrum’s expertise in diagnostic imaging includes both inpatient and outpatient evaluation. And as an interventional echocardiographer, he also provides real-time guidance for cardiovascular procedures.
Dr. Macrum chose a career in medicine to do the greatest good for others while continuing to grow academically. His step-father survived a heart attack at age 42, and this inspired Dr. Macrum to pursue cardiology as his specialty. Contributing to the advancement of cardiovascular science is professionally satisfying for Dr. Macrum, and he finds personal gratification in helping patients maintain their livelihood and quality of life.
In 2016, Dr. Macrum was named Good Samaritan Hospital Physician of the Year. He speaks functional Spanish, having lived in Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic and Honduras as a child. He played baseball, football and rugby in school and is now an avid skier.
