As an eight-year-old, Dr. Lin heard about people in Africa dying from easily treated diseases and decided to become a doctor to help. She chose to specialize in Family Medicine during her medical school OB/Gyn rotation when she discovered the joy and challenge of treating both babies and adults. “No two days are similar,” Dr. Lin explains. “As a Family Medicine practitioner, I can get to know an entire family as if they’re my own.” Dr. Lin has an interest in Tropical Medicine and Global Health.

As the Program Director of the Family Medicine Residency Program in Whittier, California, she enjoys teaching the next generations of family medicine doctors for PIH Health and the community we serve. Dr. Lin travels to Africa in the Tropical Medicine rotation to provide residents with expertise and education in tropical medicine diseases. She also loves music, singing, and hip-hop dance when not practicing or teaching medicine.

Dr. Amber Lin what was very attentive to health concern. Right away she ask to do hearing test that office when I mentioned about my hearing issues. All the front desk lady, I forgot her name, and medical technician, (name removed), were very helpful

to try & get an appt or a referral is next to impossible. I needed a referral & in one day I call 4 times with a 58 min. wait.I left my call back number & no call back so I had to drive down to the office & finally got the referral. I was way over do for my wellness physical because of the appt problem. I as 80 years old & should not have to drive to my doctors office when it can be handled by phone for a referral.

I was left waiting an hour and a half before I was seen by the doctor and she came in with a cavalier attitude, was just not very professional and I felt like I was not treated at all the way I've been treated for physicals, like none of the questions, none of the, what is the word, you know just the processes were inconsistent with what I've received in the past for physicals. I just left there with a message to my wife, do not schedule my follow up with this doctor, send me a diphthera.

I just love Dr.Lin, the best doctor I have ever had. Her bedside matters are awesome. I have recommended her to other family members. The only negative about PIH is that it is very hard to get an appointment in a timely manner.
