Dr. Gastelum office is run extremely well. Dr. Gastelum spends the appropriate amount of time discussing any changes or suggestions, he may have. His bedside manner is extremely soothing and encouraging. I would recommend him for all diabetics and truly for anyone.

Dr Gastelum has been the best Endocrinologist ever. My husband (type 1 diabetic) and I look forward to seeing him. He listens, always makes us feel comfortable but always encourages us.

Dr. Gastelum's knowledge was evident even from the first appointment I had with him on October 17th. I would love to see him again. I just wish there were more of him so that I could get an appointment much earlier.

The staff and practitioners are great, however, it would be difficult to recommend this location when there is a critical access issue. Dr. Gastelum has the knowledge and compassion to save many lives and improve overall way of living but unfortunately, d/t availability, Patients will not be able to experience his gift.

Dr Gastelum is great. He always takes the time to explain lab reports, your specific conditions, medications so you understand. (Name removed) at the front desk was so pleasant and very helpful. Which is really appreciated, as most people now don't care enough to make you feel seen or heard. A+ for Dr Gastelum's office.

Make it possible to get an appointment in timely fashion. I had to wait many months to get an appointment with this provider who I really like. And it's very inconvenient. Fortunately, I did not have a serious problem that had to be dealt with. But the scheduling was difficult. Goodbye.

Was told on confirmation to arrive 15 min earlier then scheduled at 11. Was not called long time. I went up to desk to question why not called yet. She just said other patient with different doctor,never told me my dr running late. Then another 10 min questioned her again then told oh dr has 2 pts ahead of me, never told me before and I was only one in waiting room. So not taken back for approx.40 minutes. I understand doctor can be busy, but receptionist could have informed me on arrival it will be awhile or something. Would like to have been informed as I had arranged for caregiver for my husband. This is 2nd appt with this same receptionist same thing. I'm thinking next time won't come 15 min earlier than scheduled appointment time as told. Will I not be seen?

He went over all my labs and we discussed The results seem to Happy with all the labs and adjusted one of my medicines called Olympic He answered all my questions and I'm very happy to have him as my physician (PHI removed)

I came early to appointment and they took me early which I do much appreciated. I would like to suggest before they make another future appointment please ask what my availability is due to my work schedule. I wish the dr would work Mondays or Fridays once in a while.

Yes, with Dr. Gastelum it's very difficult to get an appointment because he's so in demand. And I think that office has probably one of the worst phone systems in all of PIH. And it's very frustrating to the patients who are trying to make phone contact. Thank you.

takes forever to get an appt in this office and then it is often cancelled for 2-3 more mo. Otherwise, I love the doctor.

The office staff is difficult to reach by phone. I left several call back messages and no call backs. It seemed the phone system was not working, so I used the appointment line to finally connect with a person. My questions were answered timely.

Very good doctor, very good staff. His medical assistant is the best.

Did not care for his smirky attitude! And telling me my armour thyroid doesn't work for my body, and no food, or supplements can help my thyroid at either!!! I have been on Armour thyroid since i was in my late 40's, and it has worked through the years, with adjustments every now and then. I do not like to take any drugs, I am I to natural ways of healing. This is the only drug I take, and don't even want to be on this one at 72 years old!!

Dr Gastellum, is the best endocrinologist.. he cares for all his patient's. He spends so much time explaining things and let's me ask all the questions I have. He's the best. His staff is amazing. His nurse Erika is awesome and nurse (name removed) is the awesome. Love this office

I had a 2:40pm appt. Dr. office called me at 12 noon and asked if I could come in at 1:30pm. I could not. Then they asked if I could come in at 2pm. I said yes, and was able to get to the office at 1:55pm. After arriving, I waited 40 min. until 2:35pm. I asked why they had asked me to come in early, if they were not going to see me early. The office personnel did not have an answer.

The check in process was a smooth transition, the front end staff were very polite & Professional. The Dr was very knowledgeable about my medical concerns and developed a medical plan.

Dr. Gastelum is the first endocrinologist that I honestly feel I can trust with my healthcare. He was attentive and explained things to me about my hyperthyroidism that I did not know before. I didn't feel rushed. One thing I have to say is that when my blood pressure was taken by the nurse, I had just sat down and she did not give me the chance to relax a little bit before she took my blood pressure. I told her I usually take my Blood Pressure. In my left arm, but she did my right arm anyway. When I take my blood pressure at home, they say you're supposed to have your feet flat on the ground and your arm is supposed to be level with your heart. She did not do this. My arm was way higher than my heart. I feel that every time I have gone to that office they all take my blood pressure differently.

I'm only going to go with most needs improvement would be the communication from his back office to the customer or the patient in regards to prescriptions. I've been having issues since February trying to get a refill, thinking that when I went in to see him for my office visit on April that it would have been taken care of. And me asking personally if my prescription was going to be submitted to the pharmacy and then finding out they didn't, that it's being left on me to follow up with the insurance and yet not having them relay that information to me was very disappointing that I've been waiting for a prescription that no one's done any kind of movement on because I'm supposed to call and do a denial.

Physician excellent! Follow up appointments horrible. He wanted to see me back in 12 weeks but no appointments for 20 weeks and not allowed to do the labs he requested until 17 weeks from now. So instead of having an answer to a problem, it has to wait.

The doctor's office is great, the staff is friendly, and Dr. Gastelum is wonderful. The only feedback I have is if I don't get an appointment when I leave, I've had to at times sit on hold for up to 45 minutes. So it's really hard to get a hold of the receptionist staff when you're not in the office.

Dr. Gastelum is the best provider I've ever had. I wish I could make him my primary physician. Ive had 3 different endocrinologists before Dr. Gastelum and none have never made me comfortable or explained my labs to me as in depth as he does so that I can understand them. He's always so thorough and listens carefully to all my concerns. I have already recommended him to my family member. He's the best endocrinologist ever!

Dr Gastelum was amazing......easy to talk to, and he spent 40 minutes with me on my first visit. He was knowledgeable about my insulin pump and exuded confidence throughout the appointment. He is trustworthy.

Excellent doctor.

It was very difficult scheduling an appointment with the endocrinologist because it had to be, once it was approved by primary, it had to be approved again by someone else to review. Once I saw the endocrinologist and a biopsy was requested, it had to once again be approved by another doctor instead of just the endocrinologist. So it was very frustrating since it's been trying to deal with this for the last three months. So again, very frustrating and a little disappointing.

Dr. Gastelum is a very thorough, respectful and professional physician. The staff is equally gracious and professional.

I just didn't like that I have to call to schedule my next appointment

I feel that the doctor knew exactly what he needed to tell me, but I feel like sometimes he spoke very fast and I would rather have some instructions written down for me to come back home to refer with. That's about it.

This was my first appointment with this particular doctor, he listened to what I had to say and under stood what I said. I really was impressed.

Everything is fine with the doctor. He is excellent and very professional, but the people who work in front where you come in to sign in don't even greet you. You talk to them and it's like they ignore you. Other than that, once inside, they're different, but the people in the front don't even want to speak Spanish and are very rude.

Dr. Gastelum is very kind, efficient, respectful, and professional. I fully trust my health in his hands. I follow his advice and my health has improved since he has treated me.

Dr. Gastelum is extremely knowledgeable about his specialty and takes time to explain how one's endocrine system works so that you understand your medical condition and how the various medications interact to improve one's health. He makes adjustments to medicines and/or dosages as needed. His trainee on this day (on rotation from Family Practice) really spent a lot of time with me reviewing my latest lab results. He explained to me what my "out of the normal range" numbers meant and reassured me about my concerns. It was a great appointment and I left in high spirits!

Dr. Gastelum always goes above and beyond to make sure that I can be in my best health position as possible.
