Board certified in critical care, pulmonology and internal medicine, Dr. Akhavan specializes in management of critically ill patients with special interest in management of patients with acute ischemic stroke and intracranial hemorrhage. He is the current president of the intensivist group at PIH Health Hospital - Whittier and Downey.
